Sami Arpa sharing insights at AI for Good Global Summit

AI for good 2

Last week at the AI for Good event in Geneva, Sami Arpa shared insights from a recent workshop that we ran with 20 film professionals, divided into 5 independent groups. Their task was to create an original film concept using generative AI tools, LLMs and VLMs, from scratch within 2 days.

The result? Surprisingly, five very similar sci-fi films, all featuring women-led protagonists. The groups worked separately, yet arrived at nearly the same creative output.

We then tested these projects using Largo.ai tools to predict their audience potential, and the results were poor for all 5, not expected to be successful with the audience.

This was a powerful demonstration: using GenAI like a magic wand, without deep expertise, effort, or vision, often leads to average content. Something that can be created by majority would be the new average always. And with that, we might expect an inflation of sameness in storytelling to certain extent. But the opportunity still stays with talented creatives combine their unique voice with AI, not to just shortcut but to elevate their ideas.

A big thanks to the AI for Good organisation team!
